OK now. I'm diggen' way back on this one. It has to be at least 50 years since I read the book Hot Rod. Was there a description of a car in the book, I'm thinking a late 40's Ford, that the main character has dreams of doing up as a killer custom? If the fading memory serves me right(at this moment) it was painted a Purple or Lavender color with all the mouldings and chrome, even the bumpers, copper plated. If I'm thinking correct here, did anybody ever build a copy of that car? Anybody know the full description that was written in the book? This was just brought up in a BS session and I figured I would ask. I'm thinking I have the correct book here...

"The pink body shone with the soft depth of the inside of a sea shell, the copper trim and copper-wire wheels added a subdued richness. And the inside! Completely lined with a dark brown leather-like fabric, the instrument panel finished in antique pine, the instruments ringed with a thin line of copper, and the steering wheel a circle of gleaming white."
