Hello,

Just the other day, my wife and I were in a parking lot, while she was talking to our son on the phone. All of a sudden a rumbling v8 sound gets louder than normal cars we are usually next to on any road or parking lot. It was a very cool, old truck with a classic old guy with a smile on his face. But, the sound was excellent.

After the old guy went to his shopping trip, I took a photo of his motor/header system. There had to be something other than a stock Flathead motor idling when he parked next to us. The rumble said built SBC motor. But, who knows, the sound was pure hot rod. It was music to our ears. Even my wife who was talking on the phone, looked over to see what was making the cool rumbling sound next to us.

He was an old guy, just like us, but still puttering around old hot rods and cool trucks. Thumbs up all the way! He smiled as he walked away from his truck.

Something made me get an under motor photo to see what was what making that smooth, but cool rumbling sound when he pulled up next to us in the lot. Look at the surprise... 4 into one headers !!!


But, as I got out to take some photos of the old truck, people thought I was nuts. Why take photos of this old truck, when across the parking area, was a new Corvette sitting in a parking stall? We are old when I would rather see and photograph a cool, old hot rod than a new Corvette. Old habits die hard… What is the world coming to these days? But, that rumbling, loping, "sound" was what started the inquisition!!!

Just finished this 1950..

 

At local cruise last night, if the owner seems very comfortable in it, it's because he has owned the truck over 50 years.

 

Finally got the Jalopy done enough to take it to the Timonium Maryland show.
