The only down side to a Winters is they're open drive only as far as I can tell. That's probably great for most applications, but for closed driveline you need a HRW converted rear end, or a Rodsville quickie...

Anderson: Sorry to burst your bubble but I've sold lots of Winters V8 rears. They offer not only open drive but 6 or 10 spline closed drive. Haven't had a failure in 24 years.

No bubble's were burst as a result of this post, but good to know!!

Is this true for the quick changes only, or do they offer the "no-change" rear ends for torque tubes as well?

No closed drive option for the big or little banjo. Closed drive only offered on steel belled V8 rears and V8 center kits.

So then again, for those who don’t want open drive but do want an upgraded rear axle, Winters is not an option.

Getting off the original topic here, but you could convert a Ford banjo to use the slide in axles and modern differential. Use a HRW kit or roll your own. https://hotrodworks.com/product-category/axle-conversions/

Hot Rod Works purchased the Rodsville QC and have them in stock open or closed drive. The Rodsville QC and Halibrand 201 are almost identical and has that traditional look.

Those must be new production since the sale? Rodsville had indicated back in 2020 that he'd possible cast his last run.

Purchasing the companies is fine as it should keep products that people want available but in the long run are you able to produce product and keep up with orders now? That is the concern of folks on here who are interested in those items.
It looks like the shop is running fine but folks would like to see that you do have enough inventory to be able to ship pieces out in a reasonable time. Screenshot (1020).png

I wish the new Hot Rod Works in Texas good luck. I sent lots of potential open drive customers to them for their conversion when the company was in Idaho. Winters has served me well both as a dealer and a customer for almost 23 years. I'm surely not ashamed of any of the customer ch***is I built using Winters rears or my own cars with Winters rears. Quality products.
