Kieth, What plans do you have for the roadster? Is it save-able? Is the insurance co. being cool or are they trying to get out of it by saying someone else was driveing?
Thanks, Keith, for the eyebolt update. I installed a lap belt for my daughter, the tab type. This story kinda makes me want to add a couple more washers.
You can buy eyebolts that are designed to do the job. In the right material, the right diameter, and the right thread ( which I think is also a requirement.) Cheap too... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GFR-109L/
Thanks for posting that Keith. This is one that can easily slip past us as just like you I thought it was plenty stout. Right after talking to Aaron after the accident I took my '61 down to have 3-points installed. I had my daughters car seat attached with those same eye bolts. Sends shivers down my spine thinking about it... Sent from a pay phone
Holey hell this could have ended very badly, great news that it didn't though! Great to hear you are recovering well Aaron, take care out there (goes for everybody else to) Regards Chris ps:BIG fan of your T Coupe!
I did get payed out for the total, bought the wreck back and now it's at Lucky's Hot Rods. The frame is on a jig- still looking for a gennie left 1/4 panel that's close enough so the shipping won't be crazy.
Keith I'm glad to hear that! Good luck on the 1/4 search.. Anything else to keep our eyes peeled for?
Good to hear you're still here Aaron and only suffered some minor injuries. Luck was surely on your side. I had the brakes go in my daily in January and its not a good feeling, somehow I was lucky not to be hit at all. Still don't know how as it was peak hour. 60's single circuit brake systems aren't much chop when a rubber hose lets go. Dual circuit sytems are the way to go.
