I watched his show every Saturday as we looked for people we knew that was dancing on TV . He was a great inspiration to all that he touched throughout all those years of his many shows we sat and watched ! He did all those count downs in New York City on New Years Eve for many years as we brought in the New Year with him on TV ! He did so much for so many people but now the Legend is gone !
I wish the very best for his family and the millions of friends he made throughout his life ! He will never be forgotten for what all he did and what he stood for .
Good bye Dick Clark and RIP .

He was a great one, for sure. I have a shirt from his place in Kansas City (?) i think. For some reason it don't fit no more but i'll never give it up.

Dick Clark, rest peacfully, sir. You brought alot of goodness and joy to generations of Americans. People in your age group like my parents and Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, all the movie stars, newsmakers, and everyday people...that time...that feeling will never come again. The more of you we lose, the uglier this world becomes. I'm glad I at least got to enjoy the tail end of your generation's life and accomplishments......if only others would realize that, too.

  9. My sister once danced on the "American Bandstand" stage... my Fiance was on the "Disco Fusion" show as a regular.

Her and I agree that the "American Bandstand" was the first and the best of all the spin-off dance shows.

God Speed Dick... you brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people.

So I heard on my local radio station today that Dick Clark's first television job was right here in Utica, New York at WKTV. He also attended Syracuse University. Funny how all these little facts don't come around till the guy dies.

    He had a good run

  15. No. Just his career did.
You are correct. He will get a quick mention on the news. And then a nice memorial. But leading a good and "clean" life, with out all the sensationalist horse hockey, in 2 weeks, we wont hear anything again till the Grammy's next year. sad.:(

RIP All-American Dick Clark. Not too many people from my generation know about American Bandstand but there's nothing like parallel to that positive influence really around anymore.
