Here is a link to some budget poly tanks. Since we seem to be budget minded (cheap) *******s. www.overtons.com They have tanks for around $100 WITH Stewart Warner senders!A pal ordered on, it is nice quality. There are several shapes and sizes to choose from
I found that using those portable air tanks for a gas tank works well. They are super cheap and I think they come in 7 and 10 gallons. They look pretty good too. You just need to add a fill hole and seal them.
I just got a 10 gallon portable air tank for $35. It's going to work kick *** for a gas tank. Of course after I started welding and cutting on it I found one at Auto Zone for like $19 bucks.
i also i run a 10 gallon (like the hat) air tank for my gas tank.welded a filler neck...used the pressure gauge hole for my gas line hookup.works good.
Hey kartbreaker- got any pics of how you mounted yours?? I too am building a 27 roadster (with a y-block) your car is pretty neat
ill look around ....i might have some picts..nothing too it just makde some floor bracing in the decklid area and laid the tank in.and on the other side made a floor piece.is your a true roadster?i hate my car.it makes me mad.i want a coupe or f100.who wants to trade
I ordered this 20 gal. aluminum tank with sender out of a marine suppyly catolog a couple of years ago for about $130. Fit great behind the seat in my model A, just had to spread the braces out about a half inch. I used the filler cap from the moon tank up on the daisy panel. The tank is a little wider on top than the bottom...I guess to fit along the side of a boat hull.
Nimrod, I have an Aluminum boat tank that I bet was produced by the same people! I paind 100 bucks for mine. The rest of you are REALLY cheap
We made or own tank, cost us around 14 bucks(tank sealer) with out the fuel pump.... Oh and its 14 gallon steve-
