These pics were taken last night by a photographer named Rick Lyerly. He does amazing work.

    Del, the car looks great.

Absolutely amazing! The lines are completely different, yet the result looks so natural that it is like factory design. Metalwork is outstanding.
    Thanks for documenting this build!

there is absolutely no denying that! I am also very lucky to have Jeremy James as well. I could have chopped the car with out them and had the same profile but thats the easy part, these guys steered and sometimes physically showed me how to make it good quality...

I actually finished TIG'ing both sail panels last night, I still need help with the final hammering but I am pretty damn stoked about it. prior to this the only sheet metal I have ever TIG welded was Jeffrey James oil pan that I sectioned for him to clear his crossmember and that was a couple months ago, and now Im TIG'ing the roof back onto my car:)

thanks again to every one for the kind words and encouragement, it means alot<3

I gonna go weld the roof in and get some pics before I gotta go for easter dinner!

and just incase any of you not from the south are confused, dinner is lunch and supper is in the evening:)

I think that is the nicest compliment I have ever gotten from some one I didnt know, you're gonna make me blush:)

I just want to remind every one that the key to this chop from a design stand point is no magic.

    its a old proportion formula,

measure from the rocker to the top of your door, break that down into 1/3's and that is how high your window needs to be.

    less is more:)

Hotdamn! This is a sweet chop. It's how the factory "should" have made it. It makes me motivated to work on my '54. I like the trick with the clecos.

thanks man, I learned that from Jeroma, he's in the race industry and they do smart stuff like that:D

its funny you say that about "the factory look", thats what pretty much every one has been saying, I greatly appreciate a clean restyled custom. dont get me wrong I love my gawdy canted quad customs too though:)

I just love customs, how about that?

    I love lamp...

thanks jj, I got the drivers b-pillar nailed in over the weekend too:) not much left to do except for glass... which is a whole other project in and of itself!

has any one ever actually cut a 53-54 windshield themselves? I hear that old glass can be cut a lot easier than new? also it seems that doing it with a sand blaster may be a good way to go about it?

    any suggestions guys?

dirty ed, if I remember correctly only the front leg and the bottom are pot metal and they bolt to a part that is stainless? shit I dunno maybe Im wrong, as soon as I can walk again I'll take a closer look at mine and let you know? but all the ones I can remember seeing are stainless or chromed steel?

and custom cory thanks for the link, I'll be sure and scope that out.

thanks disco dan, I grew up in the 90's listening to bands like EHG and Neurosis and Agents of Oblivion... good stuff:)

and as always thanks a ton to everyone kind enough to comment, you're positive reinforcement is very appreciated!

I'll try to have the pass b-pillar nailed in by wed and see if jj will be a sweetheart and take some more pics;)
