I bought a A/C/heat unit from hotrod air 10 yrs ago I understand that they are no longer in business... My heater core is leaking and I have no clue as how to remove it so it might be repaired or replaced, if anyone on this board knows how to do that let me know... Or does anyone know where I can get a new one... I really dont want to remove the whole unit from my truck ... I hope I dont have a 600.00 POS but it seems like its going that way
I use DIKE, made by Radiator Speciality Company. My F150 was dribbling, not a lot but enough to smell, put a bottle of DIKE in it 4 years ago and haven’t smelled it since. It doesn’t stop up the cores, either, as it reacts to fresh air.
I just bought a vintage air under dash unit for my 47 buick. I had no heater since all of it had been taken out so I got the under dash heat and air deal. Have not put it in yet but figured if it got a leak I could just take it out and change it easily. Got any pics of your unit? Lippy
I have added Alumaseal to the coolant. Drive for an hour with the heater fan running. If that doesn't fix it, probably need to figure out how to bypass the heater, so no coolant runs through it. I've had good luck with Alumaseal. All the big box auto parts store a have it. Phil
