Thanks Tim, Seems like a few guys want to be on the list. Funny story, last xmas I made a coat hook made from some recycled wood and old wrenchs. The rule was the gifts could be stolen twice after then were opened. My gift was opened first and stolen twice before any other gift was opened.

I built this as a wagon for my dog a few years ago and it mostly gathered dust in the garage. One day I had piece of glass cut and beveled and it became a coffee table, but I can still put the handle back on if need be.

How did she weld the gears together? I tried something like this for a lamp with a mig and it wouldn't stick.

Very cool. They deserve a spot in Kramers coffee table book on coffee tables.

  14. Here's my coffee/beer table contribution. This is a Tony Feil built 301 Chevy block that a friend, Mike Beldowicz, and I raced in a '57 Chevy back in 1965. We blew it up in the summer of that year and, without any thought towards environmental issues, we threw it in a canal near our home in Clifton, NJ.
At times during the next 40 plus years I would look for the block in the area we discarded it, to no avail. Then one day in 2008 or so I spotted a small-block Chevy in a shallow portion of the canal approximately 400 feet down stream from where we originally threw it in. I got my boots on, waded out to it and realized, due to the specific damage, that it was indeed our block.
It took me another five years to get up the energy and to convince myself to remove it from it's watery grave of the past 48 years.
Along with a friend, we pulled it from the canal in Dec. 2013. It was no easy task, but it was rescued and made into this table in "as found" condition, as sort of a memorial to my old buddy, Mike (RIP Mike).
My environmental conscience is now clear!

  18. The talent it takes to dream up something like this and run with the idea astound me and takes the hobby to a different level, the mark of a artist. HRP
