    Hello,

We have driven by this "surf ghetto" location plenty of times in our daily ocean surf check. When the pandemic was just starting and we were beginning to be locked in place, these old Chevrolet trucks were part of this restoration business. But, as strange as shadows appear on hot rods and old pickups, a stake bed truck gives notice to a rolling orange crate, in a soon to be, hard working truck for any business.

    Jnaki

This was an 11 o’clock AM shadow, as that is the time my wife and I used to venture out to see the downtown area and the waves. Lunchtime adventures at a great restaurant on the pier and a nice walk to the end of the pier to get some activity in place after the meal. But, now, all of those semi-weekly adventures are moot. They linger in our minds and random photos.

This pandemic has caused all sorts of problems for the area merchants and businesses. Nothing has changed and people are still getting sick. But, we are all still in this pandemic situation together.

1949 Ford pickup in mid customization

    Hello,

One of the So Cal locals has this neat Ford pickup truck. The bright blue paint makes the truck stand out from blocks away. My wife can see it far away as we drive into the same area on the way to the beach and gas station. It is in a stage of finishing, but there is not much left to complete.

When we were on our way to the gas station and bank, we saw this blue truck. At the time of day, it created the shadow that reminded us of the huge Independence Day shadow of a space ship coming over the city during that movie scene.

It was not the run of the mill truck, but a cool mild custom.

    Jnaki

A daily driver can look like all sorts of scenarios. This blue truck was set up to go places and in style.

    Hello,

Playing the “Name The Shadow” game shows a cool Ford Truck with a 1:30 p.m. shadow, creating the Mountain Climbing Pick Ax with a different hood arrangement. The normal shadow would just be the outline of the cab and hood. Raise the hood and a new shadow appears…

Caught in a fraction of a second... “Only The Shadow Knows…” how to play.

...Chuck Manning was an Aerospace Engineer that was an avid racer, he was a pretty darn compe***ive one at that and he employed a lot of go fast in this Coupe of his. He wasn't shy of putting it through the paces...Incredible shot that is above...

11:45 am shadow of a cool Ford F-1 truck from So Cal.

    Hello,

As the sun moves North in its yearly pattern, the sun creates a different shadow in March , than in January or for that matter, later in the year when it starts its trek back South. The caption for the Ford F-1 truck could be... "The 12 o'clock shadow..."

The F-1 Ford truck was caught on camera a few weeks after the March 21 Equinox. The sun shadow is almost directly overhead at 12 noon.

    Jnaki

It is the same for most anywhere on the planet. The photos are an indication of what time of year the shot was taken. A natural phenomenon in the making. The next time you are wanting an interesting photography ***ignment, follow the sunsets from the same point on land and point in the same direction. You will see the changes in our Northern Hemisphere.

I actually have a clear view of the Sunset from my front window in the Kitchen and see and have observed the transition you mention very clearly...I jokingly say to the Missus that our view out the window adds 10k to the value of our property...:D...yes that's a very distinct, crisp, dark and defined shadow being cast by that Hotrod Pickup looking like it was out ready to haul a load from the Garden Center or Hardware Store...
