Finally got the SBC back from the machine shop. It’s built to run, 30 over 350 with Comp extreme 282 roller
cam, eagle 6” rods, forged pistons, Blueprint 64cc heads dialed in at 9.5 to 1 compression. Should be a fun little ride.
All ****oned up temporarily for the trip home from Texas to Kentucky. Gonna be about 8 or so months before I’m back at it again. Stay tuned…

  2. Really great looking photos @Hotrod31A! Any ideas for headers?

Good on you for pushing on, surprised about the results from blasting?

Gonna start with baffling the lake style headers first and go from there.

Yes I was, I knew most of these places like the driver’s quarter were toast but not to the extent it is. Also pretty impressive despite all the swiss cheese how structurally sound these spots still are. It’s true that don’t make em like they used to.

It’s been a minute. After two year hiatus because of building a house and new garage just pulled the ole girl back into the work stall.
Pounded a few dents out on the roof to get loose and ready for what’s coming.
In the interim a new project popped up I couldn’t say no to. After the 31 finally gets finished a g***er awaits. It’s an old drag car that shows it’s use but it’s a clean start.
    Stay tuned…….

Slow start out of the gate today but had a small victory getting the quarter panel first piece fabbed. Trouble with my bead roller slowed progress but I consider today a win for first day back in the shop. IMG_4031.jpeg IMG_4034.jpeg IMG_4033.jpeg IMG_4032.jpeg

Small progress with the first body line. Sssslllllooooowwww going but it’s a little better each day. Planning on rolling the body lines first then filling in the sheetmetal in between.

Change of plans on direction for this thing.
We found an excellent build on a Model A and a price we couldn’t p*** on. It is built exactly like I was planning this one so no need for two of the same. Britt did an outstanding job on his build. Hats off to this Hotrodder.
New Family member in pics with an AI rendering of my newly planned late 60s Model A drag car.Disregard the wonky headers lol.
Once complete, plans are to occasionally run with the Straight Axle Mafia guys with trips to Beech Bend. IMG_4008.jpeg IMG_4003.jpeg IMG_4002.jpeg 1A900803-8F07-45C2-A3C8-A334AB04E270.jpeg

You going to sell the original build? Someone is going to get a nice start on a project.

No keeping it and going to make it into a drag car.
