I remember seeing still photo's of this burnout... so what year was this? And why did this take so long to get on youtube? <iframe width="420" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ky7U3LxYmHE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I remember that and i believe it was late 2006 early 07 ... maybe? I believe that because it was before I met her at Round Up in 07
I want Denise to answer that... since this has probably got to be the longest period of time for a video of her car not to be posted!!! Hahaha...!
it was the first year for billetproof detroit. those were rudy's tires. afterwards, she scraped up some of the rubber. we teased her about scrounging up new ingredients for her cookies. bonneville salt and billetproof rubber. no wonder her cookies are so chewy.
Haha! Those were Roadstar's tires! She really let Big Olds loose on that one! Don't remember what year it was though.
LOL, it was June of 2004. The reason I remember that exactly was it was that April that we did the HAMB thrash on Big Olds where some bodywork was done then he went from black primer to grey primer. It was a couple weeks after this BilletProof that I meet Earl , KY where we discussed him doing additional bodywork and painting Big Olds. BO went to Mike's place in Hartsville TN that Thanksgiving and I picked him up Easter time 2005 painted. and yes, those were Roadster brand new bias plys that I was just trying out for the summer to see if I liked the steel wheel/WWW combo. Those tires are now a coffee table in my living room. There was another very memorable burnout I did a couple months later at the front door of the host hotel during the HAMB Drags weekend. Gus AKA Beatnik was behind me in his little roadster with his arm hanging outside of his car. He had to back up because he was getting rubber stuck to his arm. The air was so thick that night that the burnout smoke didn't float off anywhere, just hung in the air. I was actually leaving the parkign lot and heading over to JimC's place about 10 miles away. When I pulled into Jim's garage my wheelwells were still smoking. Fun times, expensive but fun.
The bummer part about this is no, not any longer but I wish it was. Reason being during the winter of 2007-2008 I put Big Olds on a hoist to detail the undercarriage as he was debuting at the Detroit Autorama. I scrapped all the rubber outta the wheelwells not realizing that that rubber was a protective coating to rock "stars" in the paint. I had no stars what so ever before I scrapped the rubber out and even though I sprayed some stuff in the wheels I've got stars in my paint now. Thick rubber from burnouts is the best protection in my opinion.....seriously
First time I saw Big Olds was Hot Rod Cinematic 07 before the top and interior was done and they tried to see how many people could fit in it.
I stumbled upon this entirely by accident yesterday and saw that it had only 10 views and thought that it was just posted!
never had the pleasure of meeting Denise...but will one day (hopefully)..woman is an inspiration to rodders,LOL...
I seem to remember somebody doing topless burn outs in an Olds convertible at Bowling Green. Was that you HotRodLadyBurnoutQueen?
I just met her at the HAMB drags and she is still abusing the big olds, and smiling all the way. John
Was there supposed to be sound with that clip or am I doing something wrong? There's gotta be a way to add some audio to that video. By the way, nice jugs! (In the foreground of that video)
That's good to know Denise. I picked up a nasty star ding on our Beetle this summer. If only I could coax some stinky burnouts out of the Vee Dub.
speaking of rock stars.... (like the kind Denise speaks of) LizardSkin Vibration eleminator sprayed on the insides of wheelwhells will fix future occurances therein
Thats our girl, a true hotrod hoodlum under that sweet smile. Yes, in love with her for years. Big Olds is a real beauty that can take some lickin and just keep tickin. ~sololobo~
