I started my rehab almost 3 months after surgery. I had a SNAFU with my insurance, but it got me an extra month out of work. I really should have stayed out at the time.

Being kept in a coma made my recovery harder, physically and mentally. I still struggle with spelling and simple things every day. I can still do complex math in my head, go figure.

I was deep into my cardiac rehab and I heard of a friend with a bypass at another hospital, so I went to see him. He went to his doctor and thought he had the flu, they ran some tests and an ambulance took him away. He got to watch a movie about the bypass BEFORE the surgery, lucky duck.

Well, put that way you are right. No one is “more important”. But you do hold a special place in the HAMB community. A respected voice adept at keeping interesting conversations going, and willing to take the time to do so.

I never pass by a new HRP thread without checking it out. And I don’t think I’m the only one.

Glad your recovery is going well.

Wow, I just saw this. Hang in there Danny, they’ll have you patched up and firing on all eight soon. Do what the Drs say and you’ll be good as new.

It was a humbling experience. Everyone in a similar situation agrees to that. My 1st 5 days, the hospital was trying to help me, the next 5, they were trying to kill me. That is my impression. Even as a hurting unit, I was glad to be home.

Rumor has it that Brenda says the '54 wagon is Off Limits until you pass a FAA-like post-operation physical like pilots have to. Any truth to that?

Hi Danny, I just saw this news. Will keep you in my prayers. I had angioplasty 26 years ago. Like six 32’s later , I’m still around. A good cardiologist is key. Also listening to him helps.
You have a good woman, that’s half the battle. God Bless my friend! Mark & Barb

Sorry to hear about your issues and glad that you seem to be coming through it all. Hit that rehab hard, do all of it and a bit more if you can. And finally, don’t let this deal make you think that you “can’t do that anymore”. Never stop,

I have to get an AFIB treatment to cure my irregular heart beat I have now and then. I saw the doctor yesterday, he said my heart is in great shape actually considering the ordeal I went through. Clean living is the key...:eek::eek:.
