I nominate Samiyam's Roach Rod for a special award:

"Best Original Mostly Traditional Homebuilt Hot Rod Built From Whatever Was Handy Resulting In A Lot Of Fun But Ultimately Sold And Parted Out So No Trace Of Its Brief And Glorious History Remains."

Respectful of tradition, clearly in the spirit of the Hamb, and sufficiently unpretentious that somebody threw it away. On topic, innit?

You know Kilroy, I agree; people shouldn't be overly sensitive. The problem would lie in several areas though.
-Depending on where the calender was shot, you wuld run into this regional bias thing (like, where would all our Oz/Europe/Japan brothers be?)
-you're automatically running on a bias because the cars represented would mostly be vets vs. newbies.
If you could get around that, It might work.It could be beneficial for all the new people to see first hand what the HAMB is about ('No muscle cars? No billet?NO ****!'-my contribution for a sub***le)

Since the calendar is kinda my baby, I should chime in here. It's never been about who has the coolest car. It's about the p***ion. The photos chosen make the calendar because when you see them they evoke an emotional response. When you flip the page, and see that next photo, I want you to look at it and say "yeah, I get it". There is no rockstar preference when it comes to who's car gets in. It's about the shot, not so much the car. Does that make sense? There are plenty of magazines with feature cars. You can buy 3 or 4 other hot rod calendars with feature car shots. Our calendar is more conceptual. That's why it's so tough to get your shot in it. That's what makes it special.

I just want to say one more thing...

THE CALLENDAR THING WAS JUST AN IDEA.

I in no way would want to infringe on anything Django and his crew do. They do an excelent job. I just thought it might be a relatively low risk/gain award so that people wouldn't start killing each other over it.

Very well... Kilroy (AKA: BTTB or Back to the Bottom)

Obviously this is not going the way you'd hoped. But I do give you credit for trying . In fact.....
