Hot Rods How about another game of NAME! THAT! WHEEL!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by RoadFarmer, Nov 20, 2010.

  1. I got these the other day and took the rotten tires off today. Anybody know what they are?
The diamater is 17.5" (Can that be right? I triple checked that too!) 6x5.5" spacing
Worth anything?, or did I find myself some cool hose reels?
If someone knows what they are, where do I get caps?
    Thanks for the help!

How are you measuring the diameter? They look like aftermarket artilleries for Chevy to me, but probably take a 16 inch tire. You can't measure overall diameter, you have to measure from bead to bead.

  3. oh....I measured overall. You're right then, 1/2" smaller on each side then atleast.

Those are 16x4.5 Kelsey Hayes chevy artillery wheels. Never seen a hubcap mounted to this wheel before. Although the ford version of this artillery wheel you seen hubcaps all the time.

Any 16" wheel is going to measure 17.5" from lip to lip. You just have to remember to subtract that extra 1.5" for the lip of the bead. This works for any size wheel too,

  6. Thanks Mike, I learn something new everyday on the HAMB.

Oh yeah and if you have a clean set of 4 that is worth bead blasting and painting. They are easily worth $500+ to the right buyer. Glad I could help! I love these artillery wheels!
