I'm pretty sure I'm going to get tired of this thread.........perhaps by the time it hits 1,000 pages........but maybe not even then.:D

yup! i have that car in one of my magazines but don't recall if the above shot is from that same. i thought i recalled he fashioned a custom intake for a weber but wasn't positive. thanks for that clip.

wonder if the car is still around.

Always thought the cross ram setup looked " right" in a T .

Crossrams are cool visually, but are not great for
    1. short (high RPM) runners.
    2. long floors that allow fuel drop out.
    3. Distribution and over carb'ed.
    4. linkage and fuel line fabrication.
It can be made to work, but understand it's going to be a process and even at the end, it's not going to beat a good single 4 barrel.
Says the guy with a tunnel ram and 2 4s that still hasn't dipped into optimizing it.

    @Deuces Oh, I know!
Carbs are QFTs. I assume they take std. Holley parts. Haven't researched them yet.
    Float is set well.
The idle circuits are pretty close, each are 5/8 turn out, which is reasonable for dual quads. 2 turns out at 4 corners is too much and would indicate other issues.
It's got a stumble/bog on acceleration. Probably a combo of the squirter size (I'm thinking too big) and ramps (too much here?). This intake isn't doing any favors, but it can be better. I don't have a pair of strip kits, so this will be expensive.
Cruise (main jets) seems a bit rich, but I'm not worried about that too much until I get the other stuff dialed. It does have replaceable air bleeds, which is easier than removal and disassembly. Black pipes.
Haven't dipped into the secondaries yet. Needs the front end happier to go fast enough to judge them.
Haven't pulled them off and apart yet, or read vacuum (no ports), so I don't know how the power valves are sized to need.
Starts very easily when cold without chokes, harder when warm. It's gotta be too rich, but once the squirters are tamed down, this will change.

i was going to go with an offy dual 4 bbl with two autolite 2100s but i have what seems to be an earlier version with four holes per carb base rather than the split and i didn't want to mill it open just so i could be a conversation piece. sticking with a boring but hopped up 4100 on a factory intake. going for a backdated 289 look. but i digress...

this is a real good example of how a top on a roadster should look... I had a trim shop for a while and the formula is real simple.... but most get it wrong... it goes like this.... the hoop bar.. the one in the rear has to be level or a little higher than the windshield.... the head bar, the one that goes above your head has to be higher than the hoop and the wind shield ... jumble those up and you end up with the saggy tittie look...

Don't believe all the negativity about 2x4 on the street , I love mine , have put 50k miles on it , drives great when you know that it's not a camry ! Overall fuel mileage is 16.5 . Having a manual transmission really helps the drivability .
