maybe a minor detail but i'm pretty sure these are referred to as roadster headers. "sprint" car headers are a bit different- see below. fwiw roaderster style is about as traditional as fiberglass in the t-bucket world. store-bought (sanderson) have been around since the '60s and homemade before that.

    This MF'r just oozes cool.
I'm gonna imagine that's a potent '60 in the back too.

Whatever they are called, they are the bellybutton of headers for T buckets…and there are a million T buckets running them. Sort of a ho-hum shortcut.

Could be when you get down to the point of needing headers you have already blown the budget! Ha Ha

Yeah, Cyclone was selling kits like that back in '67-'68 period, maybe earlier. They called them "Sprint car style" vs "Lakes style". I liked them because they used a big radius bend and a small radius bend so they would nest nicely. Back then, that required two different bender set-ups for the tubes with the big radius (like the center tubes in post #1741). Back then, it mattered, and they went the extra mile to make it nice. Eventually, they gave in to manufacturing costs and did them with all the same radius flange to collector - like post #1745. Little details, lost to time and profit margin. For a time, they were the only style headers that anyone offered for roadsters.

We buy our headers instead of building them for the same reason we buy a lot of other things , It would not make sense to build a carburetor , or an intake or a water pump or a valve covers , if they're so ho him , quit looking at them , scroll on ...

i agree the tight radius bends on most of them do not look as good as the earlier larger bends.

What a great start, early Pontiac, 3 spd, and a 4-bar front end. 1959-60?

6th picture in, that shop is too neat and organized. Whoever does something like that should be ashamed of themselves...
