How about that - disk brakes in 1965, or earlier!

Oh yeah! I've been looking for that article. I have the same '57 Pontiac F.I. it was on my Stude pickup and I wanted to see how it looked all spiffed up for a hot rod. Looks pretty wild. I can't imagine what my chrome shop guy would say if I brought it in to get done like that.

  4. In my opinion, the Pontiac version of the Rochester FI is WAY better looking than the Chubby.

Man, go for it, get that thing out in the open and confuse a whole bunch of people who haven't seen one!

The article says the injection was only available for a short time in 57. That's incorrect as it was available in 58 also. I think it was in 07 I saw a one owner 58 Bonneville convert with injection in Helena Mt

I do like T-buckets ,there are many ways to build one. I can normally find things I really like about most:D:cool: hot rod builds ,an customs.
But also little stuff that makes me wondero_O,what were they thinking,or not thinking/some times just bolting stuff together with out reading up at all,for engineering of best set ups.
One thing that sticks out often on many hotrods*,is upper water hose jacked up into a big high hump= air and steam pocket/bad for cooling n looks weird too. :(
Another is driver sitting up high, most often with eyes above windshield=seems like no planning or mock-up/could be combined with bad pedal lay out, maybe poor steering wheel placement{ all can be fix,but takes time. ;)
Sometimes talking to a owner, you can get a feel of ,if they are open to info that could help them ,or they already know every thing* that they want to know*.o_O So just stop* at telling them what I like. Go look at next car... :p

Yeah, the magazines often wrote stuff that was exaggerated or inaccurate, especially in car features.
In the early 70s, when they did an article on one of my cars, the writer looked at my filled out tech sheet and asked me if I would mind if he embellished it a little. Being a young guy, I didn’t know what he was going to do. My car magically had parts from many of their advertisers when in reality, it was mostly over-the-counter Chevy stuff.

A very young Whitey Gould with the typical "knees up" driving style needed for early T buckets until the lengthened T bodies came along.

Stsrting Over. Again! I drove down to San Bernardino last week to bring home a small machine tool that the seller didn't want to ship. Overstressed my 85 year old body and now paying for it. But just the air was all it took.
20 odd years ago I wanted to build a Bonneville car so I bought a 27T roadster with a one trip Bonneville history that probably didn't go well. It didn't take too long for me to

There sure were a lot of 26/7 T Buckets back in the day. Just don’t see them done that way much today.
