I am busy taking my Saginaw steering box apart because when I opened it to inspect it....something that looks like camel dung pour out of it...NASTY..so I get the top off but I cant figure out how to get the end off..? ( YEAH..dumb as a pile of rocks today...) so some help maybe..?
Typically there is a sheet metal lock ring and a big nut. Knock the lock ring back to loosen it and unscrew the big nut.
Guess I'm not very knowledgeable about camel dung. Assuming it's a manual box, I'd just take the top off and flush it out with diesel fuel. Maybe remove the Pitman shaft. If it's a power box, I hope camels have very runny dung or you're screwed.
