VT, I agree with everyone else that if the '40 is available, you should get it. I would also ask that if you do you post photos of the rescue mission on this thread. We all love seeing pictures of cars getting dragged out their hiding spots. Thor
That's a great find. I have dug some freebies out like that over the years too. It was a lot of fun. And some were built, and are on the road today. A 34 Chevy coupe, 34 Ford delivery, an 27 T coupe, just to mention a few. I never made any money on them. But it was so much fun finding, and digging them up, and then taking the pictures. So please do it, and post the pictures back here. Thanks Ron...
This seems silly to even ask? It's free and it's an old Ford. Seems like a no-brainer to me; even if to just use it for parts or sell the parts off to another person that needs them for their project. Save that old tin!
Have fun, take pictures, and take youngsters. They will have stories to tell the rest of their lives.
Hey VTJunk, get that thing. Heck, if I had the time I'd love to come up there and lend a hand. I love digging and getting dirty. Plus, we could talk falcons while doing it. BART.
That's all the pics I took. It's buried in snow and frozen to the ground right now. Will be a summer project.
And as long as you have the help and the trailer, or whatever, grab whatever else is laying around and take advantage of the trouble to get there. The snow will be melted by the weekend..... Sent from my Z958 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Something else that was there a****st the junk. Also spotted what looked like a pair of 55 Chevy 2 dr sedan doors in nice shape.
DAMMIT!! You find all this GREAT ****, and then you have to ask us if its worth saving. Wheres the justice??!! Wheres MY free bell wheel??!! Wheres MY free '40 coupe??!! Wheres MY free tr-five 2 dr sedan doors??!! Wheres the justice here??!! That's it, I'm goin' back to bed!
Ok I'm in a mood because I typed up a good one for the electric rat rod thread and it was deleted before I could post it. SOOOO here's how this went - in case y'all missed it. Bowie posted first and A general question to "anyone" p***ing by. (Not telling anyone about anything) George told him with urgency to drop whatever he was doing and go back and get the wheel for its value and the opportunity it represented.
Yeah, but the post wasn't a definitive statement providing a positive identification - it was a posited as a unsure question seeking confirmation Anyone else notice what looks like an original Bell sprint car steering wheel sitting on the floor of that Fiat? Like I said earlier, don't mind me I'm in a mood.
You can just convert a sedan over to a coupe if you find all the main structure/ qtrs and decklid. why isnt this dug out already and in your garage?
Electric cars? Off topic?? Well, you know what I always say... **** man, they didn't even call YOU a ****head!!
Not even sure what that is all about. But yeah, the car is buried right now. In the meantime I'll be keeping an eye out for a ch***is.
Well worth it. One there wont even be rough ones to find. Grab while you can. With vision hard work and talent it can be saved. Have a go. Sent from my SM-T805Y using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
VT - Honestly,I thought this thread was an early April fool's joke when you started it. Stumbling across a '40 coupe abandoned in the woods is Bernie & Kr*** material. Then the Bell wheel.. Dudes are palm slapping their heads because most of us never find things like that. Even the ones who actually look. Digging/cutting/dragging that thing out of there would be therapy for me. Normal folks love to travel and see places, watch movies etc.. As a car hermit - I'd be dreaming of that '40 while siting on some beach.
