The "future projects" side of my garage. Clean up starts today! How about you guys? What kind of hot rod mess do you have in your garage?

I could be right over (with the trailer) to help you clean out that Model A and that bicycle.

Mine needs to be cleaned. The mess is the re**** of a handful of 20 minute jobs where tool X,Y and Z is pulled out and thrown on the bench when the job is done. Of course having enough stuff for a 40X60 garage in 2-1/2 car garage doesn't help. I also suffer from some of the "yankee disease" where I think I'll use it someday or need it for a project.

it's all about shelving and lots of it.

my shop gets messy with tools for whatever I'm doing and more often than not my workbench has a bunch of junk on it, but overall my shop is clear of clutter in the way taking up floor space.

My theory is the more tools you have, the longer you can go before you have to clean your garage and pick them up and start over.

I have 3 I am cleaning up. Garage, shop and barn.
Garage is first. This will take me a while as this is where most of my stuff is. Priority is getting one vehicle pulled out and complete a trade deal so I have the room to put a floor in the second story. This will allow me to organize all my parts and get them out of the way.
Shop is next. Once it warms up I can start spraying the foam insulation to seal it up. Batting on top of that and then put my walls up. Then I can start to organize it and surface mount all my wiring.
Barn is after that. Actually it is just a place to store projects so I doubt it will ever be totally organized. Plus there will be some animals living in it by the end of the year.

Well, I'm not really a mess at the moment but ...

I've really just completed my "new garage" and I'm trying to get used to using the different areas I've created. Here's a shot of my work area which is still a work in progress!!!

3 projects strewn about on the "parking" side of the shop, and my 87 suburban sitting with no heads on the "working" side. Should have the Suburban on the road by the end of the weekend, then robot season starts (helping the high school kids) so nothing car-like will happen for two months or so.

It seems I do really well getting it organized. Then I clear out some ****...then I tear it up again. I spend atleast a day putting tools away and cleaning up my grinding dust.
Then I mop it and it looks perfect...then the dogs screw it up.
My new years resolution will be to elimnate the garage dogs and the clutter.

Mine was getting pretty bad. 31 sedan, 87 Monte SS, 32 truck, 30 roadster and a 73 Triumph Tiger. Yesterday morning it got worse when the new bike showed up. LuckysGal and I are still having differences over weather or not a vintage motorcycle belongs in the house:D

I'm going out tomorrow to buy a bunch of square tubing and plate to make a "hitch receiver" on the end of my welding table so I can put my tools in when I need them, like the grinder,shear,bandsaw,etc... then next year I'll make the shelves to put all my **** on.Good luck with your guys garages, Its definately an uphill battle!!.

Hell, garage? What garage?!! Still doing it driveway style for now.

Funny I just took a drive through the neighborhood and stumbled onto a place that's available one street behind me next door to a buddy that does street rods. It has a nice BIG 2 car garage behind it. Gonna take a look Saturday morning!
