QFT... For $15k starting base (which I do agree was a GREAT PRICE for a '32), you can get finished rods and have as much fun or more with, as you won't be worried about that blue hair running in the back of you as much...
MAC...I feel your pain, and what's up with i've seen them cheaper? MR. are you off your medication? $15,000.00 was a steal! man you do realize THEY don't make these cars anymore. hell the new all steel body coupes cost as much. that's right just the body...POP.
I've heard for years the two most over rated things in this world is teenage nookie and 32 Fords. The six 32 Fords I have had over the years have been a lot more satisfing. HRP
Arrowood Rod & Custom may never post again. It does surprise the **** out of me how many people here on this site don't know the difference between T, A, or B's. There's even an A Tudor on EveilBay right now that the owner's calling a T-Bucket. Steven.
Usually the only people to make a statement like this can't afford a 32 ford. I've had a Tudor and had to sell to buy a house when I got married. My quest is to now get another one, and I won't stop till I get a real one too! Thankfully for me, my better half is on board with the quest
Well, Randy in Oklahoma, I'm with you. No way... If you ever find a deal this good, send it my way because there's NO WAY it could be legit.
That's why I laugh when guys say "I hope a HAMBER got it" You only need an email address to be a HAMBER.
"The barnfinds of tommorrow will not be in barns, they will be in little garages in suburbia" Looks like the case with this one.
Or people who are totally bored with them. No, of the six rods and antiquers in my shop nor the three I have in my dad's shop, not a duece in the bunch. I know and understand and appreciate '32,s place in hot rodding history. 1957 Chevrolet 2 door hardtops also have a huge place in automotive/rodding history, are now priced through the roof, and I have owned two of those. But they too can only be built so many ways until they all begin to look the same. I seldom stop for the belly****on cars anymore unless it's just very well built with something to make it stand out from the mul***udes, but that's just my personal preference. If I'm gonna spend stupid money on a car/project, I prefer the little something different make/model and very well built.
Amazing find, they're still out there. I'm just glad to see the old guy let it hit the open market and not rot away in a yard, etc. I can only hope someone doesn't screw up the build. Justin; As to why he's selling? I'd guess he's letting go because he's up there in years. Figure if he was 20 years old in '57 when he got the car-that makes him 73. Maybe he's taking the Mrs. on a long vaca.
This is too funny... The deal was real! It got listed around 4:10 and we called at 4:30. My buddy was on his way and in Fife, Wa when Bob called and said it was sold already. His only mistake was not telling Bob on the phone that he would buy it right now and it would take him an hour to get to Burien to pick it up. Oh well... You guys are funny... no ****.
But at such a great deal, it's still waaay outta my budget. I guess I will never own one. Or a 57 chev, a Rolls, GT-40 ect...,but I'm a simple kinda man, one of the funnest cars I ever had was a 71 Mercury Bobcat w/ a V8. Yeah a high end Pinto. Most I ever paid for a car in my life to date was $1500.00 I could never have any fun in a car I paid $15,000.00 for. I would be a ball of nerves! I would never sleep cause I would just look at it all day every day, that would just be a terrible car for a guy like me to own...that car would own me. Hell of a deal, but....
That's the kind of car I'd own for about 10 days, long enough to flip on eBay. Which I'm sure some people will hate, but when you have a chance to turn $15K into about $75K, **** what anyone else thinks of that. Well, except for the IRS.
Well, Bob obviously isn't a HAMBer or he'd have seen my WANTED: '32 5-Window ad on here! As for all the "flip it quick and make a mint" guys, well, that's not the point of what we're doing, is it?
Am i on my own in thinking that '32 sold for what should be a reasonable price..? Sure it's an iconic car, and they aren't getting any younger, but it's not like that was the last one left. they will keep turning up, and they will keep getting bought/sold but hopefully if people stop paying stupid money for them people will stop thinking they are made of gold. honestly i prefer model A's, partly because i like the styling better, partly because they are still kinda affordable to people like me that just want to build a hot rod, not an investment portfolio.
I think realistically that car is worth $30k. You could have probably doubled your money if you were flipping it. That's if you sold it exactly as it is and didn't do anything to the car. $75k? No way. $50k? I highly doubt it. To the right guy you may get more than $30k, but I think that's really what the car is worth. So, $15k is a DEAL, and yes, the deal was REAL.
