A good set of tweed bucket seats, DVD/CD/Blu-Ray, EFI 502, Corvette Suspension, some 22-inch billet wheels with matching steering wheel, a 5-inch chop and some neat graphics and it'll be good to go, right on and off a trailer.

Sad, but probably true.

Thats a once or twice in a lifetime deal, and you have a better chance being struck by lightning than finding a complete Deuce 5W for $15K. That car is worth $35K, maybe even more to the guy that's been chasing a car like this for years. I had one of these dreams come true 9 years ago. I paid about the same money for a running and driving unpatched original car. But it will be somebody elses "find" at my estate sale. None of us really own these cars, we just take care of them, enjoy them, drive them and then p*** them on to the next Deuce lover. I won't flip it for the $$ because money goes though your fingers like water and I don't feel any joy looking at my savings account balance. Non-car people always say "when are you going to sell your cars and make some money?" What for? The latest gizmo, gadget or fad? These old Deuces give me a joy money in the bank won't. Yes, I love my other cars too but there is something special about a Deuce. Go back 50 years or more (read an old Hemmings or Hot Rod magazine) and you will see they always have brought way more money than anything else and were sought after. They were special the day they were made and still are 77 years later! Why do you think so many survived? Because people cared for them, loved them and preserved them. If you don't get it I guess I won't change your mind and don't want to. Yes, I am a Deuce addict but I'm glad there's a few out there that aren't because they're hard enough to come by as it is!:D

I doubt it, there aren't many guys like that left and they can take their pick from the ones still around for much less money than an untouched car. You would have to be living in a cave not to recognize that "traditional" is where its at. I haven't seen a Deuce built like that in years but I've seen a lot turned back to what they should be

Yeah thats a good deal, yeah those deals are still out there, and as long as 75 year old early generation hot rodders continue to find "them fancy internets" they will continue to surface. And since everyone else picked on him.... He cant see $15k for a Deuce but wants $11.5k for his Caddy? Its all worth what somebody's willing to pay for it.

Deuces are like woodies. Everybody wants one, those that have them know that everybody wants one. Only the lucky few ever get one. Either they were lucky to find one at a reasonable price, or they were lucky to have ac***ulated gobs of money, and don’t care what they have to pay to get their dream car.

A few months ago, I spotted an ad in the Woodie Times that says, 36 Ford Woodie. Complete except fenders and hood. Ch***is Engineering front and rear suspension. Dis***embled. $10,000.

The car was in Pittsburg PA. I call the guy and he says yeah, the ch***is has been blasted and ready for the CE suspensions to be installed. The wood is apart, but he describes it as in about a 9 out of 10 condition. The cowl and floors are rust free and primered.

I ask the guy if he has any pics that he could email me, and he says not yet, but give him a few days and he’ll lay out the parts and get some for me. I’m thinking this may be the perfect addition to the rust heap 36 woodie that is sitting in the trailer out back, so I hang up the phone and start trying to figure out if I have enough room on my Visa card if I max it out with a cash advance.

A few days go by, and no word or pics. I start to get a little worried, so I call the guy and he says yeah, it’s sold. Says some guy called him and put a check is in an overnight envelope sight unseen.

A few days later I spot Sawzall on the HAMB trolling for 36 Woodie parts. I call and ask if he was the guy that beat me out, but he ***ured me he wasn’t. I’m still discouraged over missing out on the good car so I offer to sell him my trailer and all the woodie parts inside it for what I have in it. He jumps on it, and I’m done with woodies. If I’m ever in the right place at the right time with the right car for the right money and I have that money in my pocket at that time, maybe I’ll go for it, but that usually doesn’t happen to me. Until then, I’m having fun with my pre-war General.

11. $30K, $50K, whatever, you get your money back and a chance to build something else that amounts to basically getting a freebie. I can live with that - but I'm not a diehard '32 fan. Like someone else said, too, I'd almost be afraid to drive it and risk it being wrecked or stolen. Whereas a cheap, quick and dirty '31 coupe is a lot more replacable - and I can build it just about any way I want out of the profit from the '32.

The original '32 Ford hood had 20 louvers. The 25 louver hoods were added late in the 1932 production run to help address overheating problems so there were very few made and are rare. Therefore, due to their scarcity they have been sought after recently and are trading in the $3000+ range now.

I was the second caller on the 32 Sedan in Michigan. Guy said, "yer 10 minutes late". Left him my number none the less.

Ah well. Such is life. Someday good luck will come, just not yet.

You should be hurting alot less than I was 10 years ago when a '32 5 window that I was after for 15 years was sold for $1500.00!!!!! It was all steel, frame, axle, fenders, running boards, grille shell, garnish mouldings etc. Another friend of mine bought it, and he thought he paid too much!!!! It now has a '29 Chevy firewall, a Mazda sunroof and some sort of sliding back window. The frame was m***acred when they boxed it and the front wishbone was thrown away for a four bar. I can post pics if you like.

20. About five years ago there was a 32 Tudor for sale here in Holland (in the Dutch version Autotrader)
It was a nice running and driving 4 banger in good condition with valid (rare in Holland) 1932 registration.
I called the owner and she said it was from here late husband and it was
just sold for 4000 euros (asking price 4500 euros or about 5500 USD)
I was a few minutes or hours too late, ahh what the hell i was too late,
sh.t happens :(
