So guys, is it possible to lift my front end without the solid axle conversion? If you've seen a g***er/drag car on stiltz without the solid axle...please chime in. Thanks

You can reverse Z the frame and make longer motor mounts.... wouldn't look very good with A arms pushed way down under the frame though.

Sure. If you have A arms, they make an upper ball joint spacer, then you add stiffer springs. Cheap way is to use spring spacers. You can also use raised spindles which are made for pre-runner type truck, S-10's, Rangers, etc.....

The car is a '54 olds. Fairly close to other GM's I would think?

On a 49 to 54 Chevy you can put spacers between the crossmember and the frame to raise the frontend.
But I heard that the Olds frontends where different.
If they are the same as the Chevys that could be an option.

I know this is a older post but do you have anymore info on these raised spindles you are talking about?
I want the front of my 55 to set high.
It had a set of the c type spacers in it but the guy I got it from took one out and lost it and never got to the other side, so now I only have one:(

Those C type spacers are available from super lift. Not for your car of course. You will have to figure out which ones you need yourself.

  10. I think g***er is right. Some lifting spindles would be an easy fix. I bet an off road shop could fab up a pair.
