I bought a 70 firebird formula 400 with 50k actual miles from the kid across the street for $800 a few years ago. Sold it to another friend and he painted it and took it on it's maiden voyage....stopped for gas and the ORIGINAL owner recognized it and came up to talk with him. He was in Hudson, WI, The guy was from Washington State where he bought it new!?!! That is strange.

I bought a 54 F100 two blocks away last summer. Still have it.

I bought a 64 C10 custom cab and a '69 C10 longbox from the shop around the corner this summer.

I used to pick up tons of old iron at the local wholesale auction. '53 Desoto firedome, '66 impala convert, '73 Porsche, lots of 60's chev pickups, '57 chevy. 53 Chevy, plus a bunch of others.

I have had dozens of cars just show up at my doorstep from the s**** guys, never had to move an inch for those.

You don't have to go far to get something cool.

My dad ordered his Chevy in 45, however, due to factories having to convert back from war machine production to car production, And LOTS of GI's wanting to spend their pay on new cars there was a long wait and a long waiting list. :) He also ordered a new John Deere tractor in mid 45 and he had that tractor in just a couple weeks, I still use it on the farm.

I found an old '60s custom less than 10 miles from my old house. What's exceptional about this is that I was living in France! How weird to find such a car locally in France: a '56 Ford convert that was a cover car in '63!

2 months ago, 3 miles from my house in Chicago, this one was pushed to the curb by a guy who gave up. What you see is what I got. I WILL drive it to the '09 pile-up.
