Got mine (gold) with the 10th Panzer in Inglostadt in 89. We had to qualify with the P1 pistol G3 rifle and the MG3 (MG42 to the WWII crowd). The MG was the toughest. You've gotta keep the bursts short by just touching the trigger. I was lucky to have some good coaching from a german NCO whose tank crew I had trained. Hold on to yours, they're mighty rare in the new "black beenie" army.
As far as all this debate about symbols and shit, I must really piss off a lot of people. When I'm not messin with cars I'm usually out at a military reenactment somewhere. Mostly I'm either a Roman Legionary, Confederate Infantryman, or the driver/mechanic on a Geman SDKFZ 222 armored car. I have gear for both sides, but being the"bad-guy" is always more fun. Anyone who gets their panties in a wad over it is welcome to put on an itchy wool uniform and "fight" me, sit back and watch the show in the hope that I "die", or just shut up and move out smartly!
