cell phone companies can read your phone and pull out name numbers and texts with email address and then sells the info.

I got one too. Looks like a new business in England. Nothing there you can't already buy cheaper elsewhere. I think this is the first time I've received an email like this that used the H.A.M.B as a selling point.

I looked at my PC e-mail account l last night, and I had received one also, deleted it. Not happy about this. If they are a vender on here they need to be kicked off the board.

Mine was waiting for me. I don't feel particularly violated, but would be happy for it to not reoccur!

  7. And why should they value you more than they value themselves?

  8. I didn't think you had, but I was not sure if it had been brought to your attention.
A thread is good but if management doesn't know it is not doing much good.

When you become an Alliance member, you are promised discounts from our vendors. In order for vendors to buy into our program, we have to merge with their point of sale systems. Now, there are three or four main POS systems on the market and none of them use names as identifiers simply because names are too common. So, instead they use one of two identifiers:

    1. Phone number

    OR

    2. Email address

Given that, I had a choice of what to use as an identifier for our program. I chose email addresses since we are an online service and because that option seemed less intrusive than a phone number.

Anyway, when vendors sign up for the alliance they agree to not use these email addresses for commercial purposes of ANY kind. This vendor checked off on this agreement… and then did it anyway. I think it was an honest mistake, but one that really bothers me all the same. I’m really sorry you got bothered by all this. I'm working on a better solution.

Not only that, but they're links you can go to, to quell the desire to know.
Its great to have a quality website that actually cares about its members the war Ryan does.
Tax return comes soon, First order of biz will be ALLIANCE membership.

Late to the spamming party but I also received the unwanted e-mail.

I know Ryan will put a stop to it but we may have to unsubscribe to make sure we don't receive additional spam from this company, hopefully the Boss will chime in on this. HRP

Please note that if you were to click on any of those links you would see that they are all unused domain names, available for purchase. If you are so inclined have at them.

I also received the E-mail. I scrolled to the bottom and clicked the "unscribe". I am Alliance but never posted anything for sale.

As I posted earlier, I did click on the email, but not on their link. But today I got a notification from Malwarebytes Premium service , to which I subscribe, that they had quarantined a spyware bug on my pc. Would hope it wasn't from this ***hole, but if it were me and I had clicked on the email, I would run a check on my system to make sure you didn't have a bug you don't want.:confused::eek::oops:o_O

BWWAAAHAAHAAAHAAHAAHAAH. NOT AT WORK, NO WAY. JUST IN CASE.
I used to have a house cleaning biz for insurable events. Fire, flood etc.
One day we took the kid and one of his friends. It was mid 80's.
They knew how to work the VCR, I didn't. They were very quiet, too quiet.
As I walked by I noticed they were making the "O" face.
I went into the room, then I was making the "O" face.
Somehow, the movie they had chosen was, "Billy delivers the groceries".
    Not good.

It looks like it was primary Alliance Members that received the e-mail and I suspect the members that are not current members were at one time and that's why they got the e-mail also. HRP

Nothing here but I'm a fairly new Alliance member so maybe that was the reason because my internet fortress isn't strong enough to pull a greasy string out of a cat's ***.
