How did you hear about the HAMB?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kustom55, Jun 23, 2004.

  1. With intros poping up like zits on a 15 year old, I was just curious how the rest of you heard about the HAMB. I came aboard when Aaron Von Deluxe has his site going and a link to this board. I had quite a few posts and then one day had to re-register so I lost like 300 posts, anyways lets hear them!

  7. I found a link to the jalopy journal somewhere and first started by looking at the classifieds

  8. I was looking for info on other rodders going to the Turkey Run in Daytona. Runs are more fun if you have other people to share them with.
This Topless Chick on another forum turned me on to the HAMB as a source of info.
I haven't been the same since.
Thanks again to our Toplees Cruising Buddy.

It came to me in a dream one night. Being a dream I didn't pay much attention, till the voices from the corn field drove me here. [IMG]

Heard about from a link on a music site, and word of mouth.

I was un the restroom stall at my favorite gay bar "the ManHole" and as I was about to look through a 4" hole drilled in the stall wall, I noticed www.jalopyjournal carved above the hole...

I ran straight home and logged on...
I stayed online all night, sore ass and all...

Actually, I just stumbled into this site around December of '01... Registered right after the Round Up '02...

I stumbled in around 2000, it's like a car wreak, you don't want to look, but you just have to.

  20. Byron Kauffman in Florida (photographer for Continental Restyling) is a member of a Ducati forum I belong to in the UK...he told me that his brothers friends cousin or something hung out here all the time & it was cool.... Checked it out, hung out for a while, and then signed up...

When Wife bought a first gen iMac and showed me where the "on" button was I found the "Sherlock" web search and searched for hotrods got a bunch of porn sites, and The Jalopy Journal, Rodders Roundtable, and StreetRod Stuff. I lurked at all of them for a while, ok a few hours, and signed up. I still check them all out regularly.
(I'm signed up for a HONDA board too!)

Before the HAMB,there was Ryans Jalopy Journal site.I found that surfing for hotrod sites;sent him some pix of my '40 coupe;he liked them and did a feature on it.I kept checking back for a couple of years and saw his notices about a hotrod chat line called the hokey ass message board; and the rest ,as they say ,is history. Of course, I lurked here for awhile to see how the site would work out.I've been lovin' it ever since !!!! [IMG]

I saw the URL carved on a stone tablet along with ten other less important commandments in a cave somewhere in the Middle East [IMG]

Actually through a link on Mart's site I believe.
