im tring to return my 35 ford sedan to the original headlamp lens/globes and wondered what all of you have used in the past?
right now i have a sealed beam conv. kit and can just barly get the globe to cover but the
curve of a standard beam is too much, maybe try a flat lens on a sealed beam

I got an older buddy, that will take an original headlight with the reflector and cut a late model headlight reflector out just around the bulb mount and pop rivet it in the old reflector, sounds weird but it works great and you've got new headlight guts!!

Yeah, I've done a similar thing several times. Cut the bulb mount out and install a halogen socket and bulb in the old reflector. Works great.

That's exactly what I did on my old Austin gasser. I did use epoxy to seal the donor base and socket in after pop rivetting it in, just to seal the seams. I had to cut the donor base with "V's" around the edge to be able to bend it to fit the more concave original reflector, but they work great with the new halogen lamps and sockets!
