I am getting ready to put a 55 poncho split rear bumper on my 54 chevy and I was curious what some of you have done to fill in the split area?

I am running a Kaiser over rider too, not that it matters, just saying:)

so any one have any pics or suggestions?

I was thinking of breaking the gravel gaurd down in between the two?

I haven't started yet but my plan is to get rid of the factory gravel pan, **** the bumper as close to the body as I can get and make a new gravel pan to fill it in.

Car is looking AWESOME Omar! Did you bag the rear end? Those skirts & hubcaps make a big difference.

I think you use a 55 Pontiac grille sheetmetal to go in between the bumpers.:D

Heres a pic, I think they use to start with the panel between the bumpers, then you cut and modify till if fits your needs.

Couldn't you just do a small roll pan there? What's on a factory pontiac bumper, that should help you out a ton!

haha! yes chaddilac thats what I am asking for pics of:)

I feel confident that I can fumble my way through it however I would like to see how others have done it to kind of use as a base...

also trying to get a gauge for spacing for and aft as well.

  24. [IMG]I had a hard time figuring that out on my 51. I decided to go with a 55 chevy bumper.

thanks guys! Timmy P, looks great mang!

Chaddilac, thanks for the pic, are you being a smart ***? :) that pic is aweful big... :D

and slick a&t, thats rad that you actually found a 54 to boot!

I think I am going to try and tie it in like the stock one as I want to extend my quarters a little bit and that would help to bring it all together!

This car is from my little town ! Havent seen it in a few years apparently it got torn apart for a frame off and stalled out mostly due to lack of experience.....too bad I would have just drove it and had fun with it....Canadian Pontiac ragtop very few left around!
