I have an old(2013) thread in a social group(COE's) that lost some of my pics when Photobucket locked them up. I would like to reload them from my computer, but I get an error message every time I try. How can I do it or is it not possible?
    Thanks.

Sometimes the name of the file is the culprit as in to long or with incompatible characters.

    For example...

    Pic name,

    Ei455ftyujikhhhgtjyyft6uhiotrdf6€&&.jpg

    Rename it,

    32Fordb.jpg

You also have to choose edit/more options and delete the old pics in the post which may appear as text...then reload the new pics by uploading and clicking into post and choosing full image.

@RMR&C it's cool your fixing your post as only you can do it and so many posts are lost in a sea of red x's...

    Oooooo I hate Photobucket...

Thanks, the pic names are short and simple.....
They show as red X's in the post, but when I open the edit page, nothing but blank spaces where the pics would be.
To add, I'm a complete ***** when it comes to computers......so speak slowly and use small words.

No indication of image when your post is opened to edit is the photo actually there?

If not when you go to more options is there images below the post that can be deleted?

Heres what you could also do and yes its a pain. Select the text you want to keep and paste it in Word...go back to post and select all and delete and save the post and check to see if the redx's still exist...if no re-open post and select text you pasted in Word paste it back in the post and add new pics you mentioned from your hard drive.

One thing to note is if you can't see a pic on your desktop you won't see it on the post...

Hope your getting it worked out @RMR&C

I don't even have Word on my POS computer.......but thanks for trying to help.
So I guess there is no answer to why this is happening? I can post and edit pics everywhere else, just not in the social groups?

I've not really edited stuff in social group posts however I have gad my battles with quirky stuff on regular posts. You could use word pad which is very basic...this is just a place to store your text while you ensure that the posting area is free of everything. You did check that there were no pics store in the loading area under the posting area correct because if there is anything there delete them first save and check your post. I will post a scan of what I mean later...have to pop out.

What operating system do you have? If Windows, you may not have Word installed. But it should have either Wordpad and/or Notepad installed, either of which can be used for basic text editing.

What sort of internet connection are you running; cable, DSL, fiber optic, etc.?

What browser are you using? Has it been updated recently? If you're using Internet Explorer for example, you might try using Firefox or Chrome and see if anything works better as far as uploading photos. Some browsers can still have some random quirkiness when performing certain tasks on certain websites.

Try posting a random picture to this thread and see what happens.

I inserted a pic into the post above using the edit function......so no problem there.

I went into the social group thread and deleted all of the text in one post. Blank page in edit.
Red X's still appear in the post. Dunno why the editor doesn't recognize the pics or broken links, something is wonky there. Right clicking on the X's gives me no option to delete them.

Mart, my puter has Windows 7 and Firefox on DSL. Zero problems using this or any forum.......except this...

@RMR&C...this is a clip showing what I was suggesting may or may not be happening. If when you select Edit/More Options if you see any thumbnails remaining below the post area you must delete them and then you can upload the new pics. Again just trying to illustrate my thoughts with visuals which sometimes helps.

Perhaps you can have a Mod help out...I have even deleted a post and made a new one if something just can't be straightened out. The thing that seems to work best for me is save the pic to the hard-drive, select it to verify you can see it and upload it to the post. I also try to keep them 400k and lesser size wise as 2 MB pics really bog things down to mud for many members.
