When I first saw this thread, I thought "Nawww, can't be THAT Mike Bishop"...
How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod
That is among the "Holy Books" in my library:). This is pretty exciting and he's a great addition to the "heavy hitters club" on the HAMB:cool:

@mikebishop37 "How do I get back in the group?" That's like an escapee breaking back into the loony bin!

Oh and welcome back sir and may I get an autographed copy of your book? Asking for a friend. Just slide it through the bars on my door, ward 6, third padded room on the left.

I met Mike when he was working for American Rodder, he shot my Roadster early one Sunday Morning in Bakersfield, and we finished up in an orange grove on the way to Famosa. He was driving his famous '29, and I asked him if he wanted to drive my car. He said sure, so we traded for a couple miles to the track. I couldn't been happier with the article, and we have been friends ever since. Mike, I am glad you came back to us, you are a wealth of information, and a great guy. IMG_8546.JPG IMG_8547.JPG

Welcome back. Clem has nailed it. Mike Bishop's profile is AV8. I saved a lot on porting flatheads from Mike's threads.
This is the thread for his release of his book on rebuilding and modifying flathead engines. He was offering to sign books and had some frustration with Amazon.

This is the HAMB name opposite Mike's mail address for purchasing the book.

This is as good a place as any any to get back in touch with the HAMB and especially good folks like Marty.
Lots more craziness since my last time here. My good pal Kent Fuller pulled the plug on the Santa Rosa shop and with it my porting bay and Fuller's amazing help with my projects. I was pretty deep into a "tadpole" three-wheeler project, having collected all the essential hardware, but it's not something you can do in your driveway, so it languishes in storage, waiting for a new enthusiast.
The loss of my porting bay was a greater concern. There were few things in recent years that I enjoyed as much as carving cast iron. Trust me when I tell you it's addictive! But I'm not likely to find another porting bay to set up my fixture and equipment so I'm ready to send it all down the road to someone who wants to get involved with this wonderful art-form, and I'll present it on the classified department.
I'm going to get back to hanging out here again. I miss you folks a whole bunch.

  27. Nice to see you back on HAMB Mike. Sorry to hear about the medical issues and the loss of porting jobs. Your knowledge can still help folks.
