    Hi all,

I'm looking to paint my valiant VC wayfarer brown with a turqoise metalflake roof (as it has been satin black since I bought it and I feel the need for a change). I've never painted flake before and would like to know how to get an end result to match that in the pic of the guitar shown (as in what base/flake/etc. to be used).

There are two ways that I know of to get what you want. Shoot it in a fairly color matched base, then shoot turquoise flake mixed into clear or intercoat clear over the top. The second would be to start with a silver base, shoot silver flake over that, then coat the whole thing with turquoise candy. I'm no painter, so that is a bit of an over simplification, but that is how it's done.
