After taking the door panels off of my 52 Buick, I noticed some rust inside the door. I'd like to get at it with the wire wheel and some PoR15. How do I split the inner door sheetmetal from the outer ? Im starting to think this gunna involve some grinding of welds..... any help is appreciated, thanks--Zilla
theres probably spot welds around the perimeter, and a couple on some inner structural pieces. you drill those out and with a seperating tool which is like a mix between a chisel, and a putty knife you un-fold the edge all the way around and remove the inner door. reverse the proccess to put it back together. it's and involved job, you may be better off dousing the inside with rust converter, or cutting a large square out of the inner panel for access then welding it back in.
