Just got a nice pair of original Lincoln door ****ons and I am curious to know how they mount to the skin.
There is provision for a screw but is there an outer collar?

    Hey Qentin.
I believe they mounts by the screw from outside only and since it´s angled it drags the ****on against the doorskin. I went a different rout when mounting mine. If you look in my build thread it shows how I did it.Post #333

Perfect . Thanks Kenneth. . . . and a very good excuse to spend some more time going over your amazing build and skill level . Incredible work and was a great inspiration prior to attempting my 39.
I still have not got a satisfactory result trying to tig. I always seem to have it run too hot and burn holes and then spend time trying to fill them creating bigger holes. 1.6 and I am fine. Any less and I have trouble. I seem to have a better mig technique for myself that I can control without too much distortion . But really admire your welding skill.

Practice, practice and practice and a lot of patience;). I think you are doing great with the mig and if you´re comfortable with that that´s the way to go.

the key is to drill the hole at the perfect location so that it pulls the ****on down flat
