I'm pretty new to painting, and I saw this pic, but how do you get paint to look like this? [IMG] Sorry for the dumb question, I'm just curious [IMG]

    The pattern is printed. [IMG]

I think the background is HOK Silver Microflake, with Green Candy.

Looks even better in person,it comes alive in direct sunlight.

  5. Most likely the pattern has been printed..

Have you ever saw the lowriders with complex designs that look like a table top sheet?

Well i have one for Pattys day, that looks pretty damn close to what you posted..

They lay the sheet over the car with water or some kind of adheasive , then lay some paint over.. I herd it works pretty good, if you dont fuck up..

Are you talking about Lace painting ? [IMG]

This is done entirely different, and will produce more detail.

yes that is the same thing as doing a lace panel you use lots of starch on the lace so it keeps it shape.
the darker color is done first then the the lighter color fills in the openings in the print.

Hey all you paint fellas, how about some more tech detail instead "it's printed". How does printing work? What does one use, etc?

Being an Irish type of feller, I would love to know how to dupe that pattern.

I'll keep this bumped in hopes that Jdee sees it. I've been to his shop and seen a lot of this stuff first-hand. It looks 10 times better in real life. Totally bad ass!

I remember the original post with the how-to, but it is long gone. I thought it had been etched and then painted. I can't remember exactly and the site I had a link too is gone also.
