What is the source of the pics? Are they from a digital camera? If so, you should have software that came with the camera that will allow to manipulate them. You need to RESIZE the image so that it is no wider than 500 PIXELS. When you save the file again as a JPEG, it will probably ask you what QUALITY you want to save the pics at. Use a setting that is a little lower than the best quality. Usually it will say what size the pic will be. For uploading to the HAMB it will need to be LESS THAN 80 Kilobytes (80,000 bytes). If you are scanning photos, then either scan them at a LOWER RESOLUTION. Try around 100 DPI (Dots Per Inch)... OR... you can scan them at a higher resolution and then RESIZE them to the aforementioned 500 PIXELS WIDE. If you have Microsoft Office installed, you should have Microsoft Photo Editor. You can resize using that package also. Good Luck!
1. Open up Microsoft Photo Editor (under M-soft office tools) 2. Go to file/open/whatever your image is called 3. Your image should be open now 4. Go to image/resize 5. Shrink it down...way down. Like 60-70 % 6. Save it You should be able to upload now. Oh, and don't use funny file names w/ multiple words. Just one word file names.
if you have photoshop, open your pics in that and then use the "save for web " function- it automatically makes it right. otherwise save you pics as jpegs and when it asks you what quality you want, use medium or low
