  4. Not sure.......but will the plastic emblem in the center come out?
    Probably screws under it.

Looked in a 1955 Plymouth service manual. It says to depress the center ornament and rotate it counter clockwise to disengage it from the ring.

Are there any screws coming into the wheel hub from the back side?
Couldn't really see any in your pics.

Might also check on the P15-D24 Forum as some guys have 54 models.

    Hope this helps.

Push down on center of horn and turn the horn ring counter clockwise.

No screws. I'll try that emblem thing in the morning....the car is on a lift with another car under it for the night.

Thank you for going to the trouble to look that up for me !

The whole horn ring won't turn. If you look closely, you can see that the horn ring spokes wrap around the steering wheel spokes. Or am I misunderstanding?

Thanks, guys. I have to leave now to go to the kid's choir concert. I'll check back later.

Sounds like just the red center part is going to twist out, then there will be something else holding the ring on. My '54 pontiac was similar.

Yes, that's it. I want to think all of you who replied and PM'd me with help. I got it off of there today, and got the column and box out of the car.

I'm posting a couple of pictures too, just to help anyone using the search function in the future. You can see the emblem turns slightly to remove it as posted above, and the other pic shows the screws underneath that secure the horn ring.
