How do you like it?

    High idle or low idle?

I like my car to idle very low. My 350 I have idles about 600 in park and 450-500 in gear, doesn't hesitate with throttle and can't be easily stalled if you de-accelerate really fast or press the gas while braking... It has the slip and slide... powerglide.

I prefer the idle really low because it sounds cool, probably uses less gas, doesn't move in gear without touching the gas pedal... etc.

So what do you guys prefer?

I prefer specs. But then again, I haven't had an engine in any of my cars that was "factory specs" once I put better parts in/on it. I like it to be around 700. Depends on if my choke is sticking though, or if my intake leak has gotten worse.

I think everybody loves a good low RPM, lumpy idle. Then again nobody likes a stalled car at a green light. I say drop it till you stall, then toss it up a little.

Common sense would say have it as low as possible for it to operate. I've had a few cars that had really high idles, but that was as low as they would idle with the paticular setup cams/intake etc

    Low ( 900 RPM ) and "lumpy" cam slobberin' sound! ( on a Tri-powered, mildly cammed 327 )
