I'm glad I never mentioned my Merc has a SBC in it. Not my first choice, but its all I had. Its a custom and just like Mac said....who gives a*****!

Ok just made more pop corn. The reason you but a sbc in is because you are lazy or just a dumb*****. You can buy sbc motor mounts. You are most likely to dumb to make a set to fit a Ford. Then the oil pan will fit in a Ford so you don't have to think just drop it in. Then the junk yards are full of chevy's. and the engines are cheap. I could go on but what's the sense I ,m talking to a lemming.

 

You know what else I hate? those late night***** phone number ads, surely no one really calls them?

i think i got off easy when i was a fng.. mostly because i kept my mouth shut and didnt share "non-trad"***** i was doing in the h.a.m.b. world.. well.. here goe's..









this little beauty came to us sporting a sweet flatty with a flat-o-matic c-4 in it.. said flatty developed a little rattle of sorts..so.. being the kind of guy that i am... it's getting a sbc/turbo350 stuffed in where the flatty used to reside.. it came with mustang 2 type front end.. the car is already bagged.. we are going to clean that up with hard lines and slight change in the way the bags in front are mounted.. when we get thru that part.. 4 link rear/ 9 inch.. so... i'm off and running..

Some folks take this engine selection issue kinda serious...

I have my opinions on the matter, but my opinions are kinda "soft" when compared to a lot of posters here.

In any case, there are certain things that we will HAVE to deal with that WILL cause us frusteration and anger.

An engine selected made for a car that IS NOT OURS, ain't one of these things.

No one should really expect another to LIKE any engine selection made by another, but it sure ain't worth the energy needed to get pissed of about it...

350's versus flatties...mine is a woefully underpowered 230 Dodge, love the sound of my pipes, 3 mains and all.
I'll never break a land speed record but I will enjoy my car. I can't see putting a V-8 just to make a little more rumble.
