    damaging it?

Normally I'd just pry around until it came out. But this is a VERY nice wheel and column I got about a year ago (dreaming of a nice 40 to put it in!!:D) The ****on, after being almost 70 years old, of course, seems a little brittle and I don't want to break it. Is there a trick to it?

Push it in, turn to the left I believe, and the spring should pop it out. It might be right, I am talkin' from memory here. There is a keyway/slot basically that retains it. The spring that keeps it pushed out, and keeps it from beeping should have enough tension to pop it out. Be careful if it's a bit brittle, but that should work for you. Tim :)

Push it in,turn to the left.If it doesn,t move easy use a valve grinding suction cup.
