1952-59 Ford how does 52 sedan original fender skirts mount ???

got a question how does original set of 1952 ford fender skirts mount ?? i see alot of these repros say that the repros mount as in flush mount ??? just wondering

 

Orignal fender skirts are flush mount and they are about 4inches wide. I have also seen flush mounts that look like the outside mount.

 

I had some on a 54 years ago. If my foggy memory is right, one end slipped a pin into a slot, then when you hold the other end in position and move the handle, the handle pushed a pin into a hole on the oposite end and ran a clamp down on top.
