12.70's. Pretty well documented, here, on the board.

    What does yours run?

And to those misinformed, there are quite a few street rods on here, open your eyes and you'll see em.

Street rods are slow and have air conditioning.

HOT RODS are fast, loud and bare boned.

my car's not all built yet but the engine is. I hope to get it in the 13's... ~450 horsepower in a '41 Plymouth? Not the fastest around but hopefully it'll outrun the local kamikazes.

p.s. seesko, i love your avatar. I'm a WWII buff (especially when it comes to the planes.)

The speedo in the 41 doesn't work but on the way back from Billetproof the wife(who was following in the 4 runner) pulled up next to me at the rest stop and started yelling at me about getting a ticket for doing 90 in a 65 would get me in a world of shit.
Hell I didnt know she would go that fast.
Street rods, rat rods, Kustoms, customs, stockers....fuck the labels I just love cars!!!!

My hot rod would go really really fast if it was dropped out of a bomber but the sudden stop would hurt! ---- The older we get the faster we went! --- LOL.

And rat and rod should only be used in the same sentence when describing what kind of shit was in the floors of your car when you brought it home:D

My sedan is faster that the wife's flathead 8BA powered roadster, it runs about dead even with my son's stroked 350 shoebox. So...the whole thing means nothin'!

I sure do agree with you on this one. Apparently, "political correctness" has infiltrated the HAMB.

My Morris does about 9 mph when the push cart pushes me down the embankment off the road to the lot........but it has no brakes so I don't dare take her any faster :(

Someone please help me on this one... all along I have been assuming that if you had a "rat rod" car, it was required to have at least 3 of the following:
1: 305 chevy from a 84 caprice classic (extra points for a stock HEI)
2: At least one beer can attached to the engine
3: A 10 bolt chevy rear axle with 3.07 open diff (extra points if it is a 7.5" ring gear)
    4. Uses a 1980's license plate to cover a rust hole.
    5. Unable to spin more than one tire (extra points if you have to step on the brakes)

And I also thought that a "street rod" just skips #2 & #4... so the only difference between a street rod & rat rod was a beer can and a rust hole.

Have I been wrong on this all along?

BTW. 11.05@125 for my rod that has a rat (and a huffer)

Only time I ever timed my old Coupe (the Green Grenade) it went 14.2 but I lifted at about 1000 feet due to the cold track. Not a real fast car, but it was fun.

BTW, if you don't know the difference between a Hotrod, ratrod and a Streetrod, you most likely have a ratrod or a Streetrod. Sorry, it's true.

They are not merely labels, and are not the same. You can THINK what ever you want to, but that does not change the facts.

No "official" times on the Plymouth, but - Just a bit quicker than the BMWs that every idiot around here seems to need to drive, and quite a bit faster than a the sherrifs cruiser that tried to chase me down I-8 a while back!

my desoto ran 14s with a super charger, and barely stopped at the end of the track haha it was pile...but a lot of fun.. It re-enforced my belief in making sure all your parts match when you build a motor.. slapping some dart iron eagles, and a baby weiland on some random 350 small block with keith black pistons and an unknown cam doesn't always work out to good ;)

  29. Do you really say weiland? :)

They are labels, but not the same. Now the question is who makes the rules about who gets to play on the H.A.M.B.? Do the Street Rodders have to leave so only the Hot Rod guys can post, or are we all going to try to get along?

How fast is my car? It depends on how hard I push on the pedal.
