    According to 'Flathead Jack':

Streetrod - Ford running a Chevy with a can of wax in the trunk.

Hotrod - Ford running a flathead with a box of tools in the trunk.

But then what do I know running a 2L Pinto in my A - but it will do freeway speeds.

    mines a fast sum bitch.

Right up until the rearend let go.

Then it stopped, very quickly, with both tires locked up.

Then the axles let loose, and it sped up again.

Soooo, that must mean like what, low 6 sec ETs right?

You will never go as fast as you will right before the pistons melt

There are a lot of 10 second cars on here....but its a b.s. thread so nobody is paying attention.
second pass....new motor. Beck beat me in the next with a 9.65 against my 10.24

  24. Excellent post here. the Road Rockets of Indy hosted a free drag race for pre 1965 cars at the Muncie Dragway in Muncie, Indiana this past summer.
Attendance for the event was literally overwelming as there were nearly 100 cars at the track when we got there. (The owner of the track told us not to arrive before 9:30am).

We cussed and discussed the idea of whether or not to post E.T.s on the track board and announce the times over the PA system.
We elected to go with a flag girl start and not post times on the boards. the driver could still get their timeslip at the shack at the end of the return road.
Nearly everyone we talked to was surprised at how slow their car really was. In most cases, their 10 second hot rod was actually a mid 13 second car.
Everyone still had a great time and at the end of the day I don't think anyone really cared how fast their car was.
