I might need to trailer a '60 El Camino and I was wondering how much they weigh so I can decide what I need to tow it with...all flat lands Are they heavy?
[ QUOTE ] i think my 64 impala is around 3800 lbs, but don't quote me. how far will ya be hauling it? [/ QUOTE ] About 15 miles. Have to have it off the ground because it's not registered and not running, otherwise I'd flat tow it or get a temporary and drive it.
[ QUOTE ] i think my 64 impala is around 3800 lbs, but don't quote me. how far will ya be hauling it? [/ QUOTE ] That's probably pretty close on the Elko. You should be able to pull it off with a 1/2 ton. 15 miles aint nuthin'.
[ QUOTE ] You're getting the one that Axle had? [/ QUOTE ] No. A different one. It's got a 350/350 in it and "it ran when it was parked" but it's been sitting in storage for 16 years.
According to what I can find, it's actually kind of light, at approx. 3600lbs. 4 websites claiming the same tonnage. That's chump change man. Go tow a same year Buick at 42-4800 lbs.

[ QUOTE ] Elk weight between 600 to 1200 lbs they also taste real good. [/ QUOTE ] ' The one's I had to drive around in the middle of the highway in the Canadian rockies were way bigger than that! Can't use a dolly, it's not registered so I have to have all four wheels off the pavement. This thread can go away now, I got what I needed... Thanks everybody!
[ QUOTE ] This is a No***** Deal, I brought a 1967 GTO back from Texas on a U-Haul trailer and a GTO is huge! [/ QUOTE ] I've seen a 53 chev and a 54 chev survive those 35mph Uhaul trailers. 15 min drive? I'd take the chance and flat tow it.
