I might need to trailer a '60 El Camino and I was wondering how much they weigh so I can decide what I need to tow it with...all flat lands

    Are they heavy?

About 15 miles. Have to have it off the ground because it's not registered and not running, otherwise I'd flat tow it or get a temporary and drive it.

That's probably pretty close on the Elko.
You should be able to pull it off with a 1/2 ton. 15 miles aint nuthin'.

You're getting the one that Axle had?

    No.
A different one. It's got a 350/350 in it and "it ran when it was parked" but it's been sitting in storage for 16 years.

According to what I can find, it's actually kind of light, at approx. 3600lbs. 4 websites claiming the same tonnage.

That's chump change man. Go tow a same year Buick at 42-4800 lbs. [IMG]

The one's I had to drive around in the middle of the highway in the Canadian rockies were way bigger than that!

Can't use a dolly, it's not registered so I have to have all four wheels off the pavement.

This thread can go away now, I got what I needed... Thanks everybody!

    I've seen a 53 chev and a 54 chev survive those 35mph Uhaul trailers.

15 min drive? I'd take the chance and flat tow it.
