I am mocking up my Tudor Model A and need to know the clearance of your A frame from the ground. I know it will depend on all different things but a picture and dimension would be great.
I am looking at a 40 ford stock axle with a suicide front end if I can get it low enough. The front spring is a new posies flat arch with reverse eyes. If it is still to high I will go with a 4" drop axle but don't want to drop the cash if I don't have to. Here is a photo of the new skins I got. They are 7.50x17's but a VERY cool. The front will be 6.00x17's but again if it is to high I will go with 7.00x16's and 6.00x16's in the back. These skins are a ful 32" high. I have two 17" wire rims and am looking for two more now.
You can get it pretty low by mounting the spring off the 'bones behind the axle, just like Eyeball did. Eyeball. A Bulldog perch or Zeeing the rails will get it down further. But if you want to run the stock frame horns, you have a problem because they typically go over the axle.
I was looking at doing the eyeball suicide drop to bring her down. Any other sugggestions short of dropping big cash on a dropped axel?
Use "suicide" in the search function to find lots of pics. I've got the same axle, getting the frame down isn't the hard part. I'm trying to figure out how to attatch shocks when the frame is actually lower than the axle.
Unkl - show me a picture. My frame would be about 3" above the axle. I'de liek to see how yours is mocked up.
my t on a frame ..shes tall...but shes a lady that suicide could dump your front pretty low.and step the rear.i channeled mine two inches...but now its the 4 1/2.but its a whole new car now....or will be.top secret.
