How long until the 14's skyrocket in price?

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by Roothawg, Jun 30, 2025.

  1. Had em posted for $50 4 years ago. No takers

Friend of mine scrapped probably 100 sets of 14 inch wheels. The $12- $14 each at the scrap yard was the only folks willing to buy em

I paid $100 for four 14” 5 on 4 bp for my Dart, had 13s originally, think I got a good deal. Don’t see many 14” 5 on 4, eventually the whole car will have 4.5 bp but if I could find a couple 7 or 8 inch wide 14s with 4 bolt pattern for the rear that would work excellent. I believe I could redrill a ford 8.8 for 5 on 4.

That BVD pattern is a big part of the holdup, as you know.
Most of the 14s are 6" or narrower until you get past HAMB era.

  4. The Rocco and cheaters guy had some small mopar wheels. Shipping usually runs $25-30 per wheel.
But I skipped over the 14s so I can’t tell ya what styles were there.

  6. He is on here. But I’m not sure if he’ll ship a set. He seemed hesitant when he was asked while I was there.
Amd I’m not sure what styles was there. And if a set was complete.
I did se a set of spider cap rings that were for smaller hubcap wheels. Possibly small mopar. They were smaller than the gm/ford ones I bought

if you know what they fit they are easier to sell. I sold a few steel wheels, mid 60's Chevy, pretty sure they were for a Nova...as well as some stamped Ford that I think were "correct" for my 65 Mustang.
4 lug 14" wheels that fit Datsuns would sell.
if I had to find another wheel for my 61 Dodge it would be near impossible, 14 X 5 or 6, but they take a bigger dog dish hubcap than later wheels, I believe they changed in 63. I'd like 15 by 7 or 8, but I'd have to have my center put on new hoops.
one thing about selling is you have to have patience. I've sold a buttload of stuff on craigslist over the last 5 years.

I've got 4 14x10 wheels they came on my $140 66 Shelby GT350. Now I know what to do with them. N50x14 tires aren't around anymore. I was running Caldwell race tire recaps. Caldwell was one of the goto SoCal tire shops. https://www.hotrod.com/how-to/tire-shaving-race-cars
