I bought some rusty engine parts on Eb*# in early January, still no sign of them,AND the seller hasn't returned any of my emails in the last week. Never recieved a tracking number. How can I get the guys phone number from Ebay ? How long do you guys wait until you file a dispute with Eb*# or PayP#* ? -------- Paid for them with my credit card,so I'm pretty sure I'll get the money back eventually, but I'd rather have the parts. Shouldn't take THAT long to ship a box from Colorado to Michigan. Maybe he got hit by a train ? Any suggestions ?
Go back and see if he's selling more stuff on ebay.Have a friend try to contact him regarding an item he's selling. If he emails back then you know he's still around.Maybe your friend can get his # regarding an item he wants to bid on......something like he wants to talk to him before he bids....You get the idea.See what happens. Lou
To get the phone number of anyone you are currently doing business with go to the ebay search page. Click on the link that says find members. On the find members page, scroll down to the contact info section. Type in the item number and the other party's user ID, and ebay will send you an e-mail with their phone number. Your number will also be sent to them. This info is from a book about ebay for idiots! Hope this helps. Good luck!
I have filed a complaint in less than two weeks...you dont HAVE to follow Ebays 30 day rule you can file. If you used PayPAl file with them to and if you used a Postal MO file with them.
http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/?ssPageName=home:f:f:US Report the sorry *** , they will send you the phone number of the seller and send them an email too. As someone else said before, do soon or call your credit card company.
Hey I know I'm an ***hole but when I paid good money I want my parts. There is no reason you should have to wait so long unless properly notified. Report them to E Bay
Gee, I''ve NEVER had this problem with eBay. Maybe because I'm smart enough to have never done eBay! This is just one more reason why eBay bites feces slimed scrotum.
Purchased a few things from Ebay a couple years back. No more though. Ebay doesn't seem to have it under control very well and from what I can see they don't pursue some of the deadbeats. I believe one of our HAMBrs reported that his Ebay PayPal account got hacked and $60. pulled out a very short while back. PayPal's another outfit I wouldn't do business with.
HI; you can file a unrecived item notice, anytime between 10 to 60 day after the auction ended, go to the item that you won and click on feedbacks, it will bring up a list on the bottom of the list is were to file it , (report unrecived item) and ebay and the seller will be sent a notice, by email and to there ebay account. later kb
........hey "Unk"............you know your luck with them Homeland Security dudes. They're pretty busy right now plucking buckshot out of Cheney's huntin' buddy.......... You should have never pissed 'em off! ****in' Hippie!
I wouldnt waste too much time with Ebay claims. If you paid with Paypal you are even more screwed... They want you to contact them and talk... That is there solution. It never works if the guy on the other end is an as*hole or a deadbeat. You are best off putting a stop payment on the charge through your bank or CC company. I would give ebay/paypal one week and then make the call. My 2 cents... They dont want to lend a hand, but if the money is denied then they take it back from the seller. Hyfire
use Paypal , they will hold his $ until he proves that you recieved the item , if he can't ,you get the cash back.
You probably want to act on the chargeback with Paypal/Your credit card company as there is a time limit for these things (it may be 30 days). You should also go to ebay, log into "My Ebay", click on "Dispute Console" on the menu on the left, and when you get to the dispute console, click on file item not received compaint, and fill out the form and submit it.
If I haven't gotten my stuff within 30 days, I'm calling to find out what happened. Sometimes there is a honest problem, like maybe the guy got beat up not delivering the last parts and is still in the hospital.<lol> If the person you bought them from has good feedback, there usually won't be a problem. Your mileage may vary.
its not official until there is penetration. I have had two people mad at me, one time I gave his money back, i didn't want to ruin 100% feedback for $5, the other time someone in greenland won the auction, sent an e-mail "wheres my stuf" the next day. I waited for payment, it never came. they quit sending e-mails when i asked for proof of a certified check they sent. I've had god luck getting my money back on the two things I bought that never panned out.
Got the guys phone number from Ebay, a Reverse Look Up tells me it is a Cell number. We will see what happens. Had good luck on Ebay,so far,on stuff under $100. Anything over that has been a h***le.
UPDATE:The guy has ignored my emails for the last week, within an hour of recieving the guys phone number from EBAY, I get an email: > Ian: > I'm afraid that I really dropped the ball on this one. I boxed > them and paid for postage a long time ago but they got placed > behind some other things and not sent. I will get the postage > upgraded and sent to you (rates have gone up since I labled the > boxes) I want to refund some of your money too, for screwing > things up. I don't remember, how much did you pay for the auction? > > So sorry, > Doug Tempting to tell him to keep the parts, and give me a complete refund. Any suggestions ?
Ian: I feel for you my friend. When I buy stuff on e-Bay I always use a postal money order to pay for stuff. In almost 200 transactions, they've only tried to stiff me twice. On small ticket items,e-Bay could give a **** less.I don't use PayPal because I don't use credit cards. What really makes these ***holes squirm is if they don't answer your e-mails,I just get the Post Office involved. They consider use of the mails to intentionally defraud someone a federal crime and they WILL pursue it.For some reason people seem to fear the postal authorities more than the DEA. As for your situation,if you think you might be able to find the parts elsewhere,I'd ask him to just refund your money.
Sounds to me like this guys gonna be cool from here on out. Why not just get the parts you wanted in the first place, and accept a little kickback money to boot? You said you'd rather have the parts anyway. ****s that you had to file with eBay to get to this point, but the system does work, your emails didn't do **** but this apparently did. I'd get your parts, get a little extra $ out of the guy, leave him a good feedback, and remember to do this again if you ever have any more problems.
