Hey, Sid, what do you need stripped off to drop an axle? I picked up a score on eBay the other night for $1. Yep, $1!!

I'm thinking 3" for my '54 stocker and I think there are others that could use the info.

A bare axle would be best. I offer services from just a axle to a complete axle with spindles. I also offer spindle reconditioning for the wore out spindle bushing hole 90% of the Chevy's have. E-mail me at sid@droppedaxles for a price list of services and what I have to offer...Thanks SID

My name is Eddie Specht I built the 58 chevy you posted photos on in HOW LOW CAN YOU GET A 50S CHEVY TRUCK USING STRAIGHT AXLE #23 my shop was Eddies Customs in Las Vegas, Nev. I sold that truck to a person back east around 2008 he seen the truck in a show and have some spare parts that go with the truck. Your post is very old but I wondered if you had a contact for the photos you posted. I had to drop the truck quick; I had 1 day and 1 night before the show and no front clip. C the frame was only option, don't ever do it! Very dangerous, a flat tire and flip. If you can turn me on to your source of photos or the person I would be happy. Eddie

Good to see someone mention the scrub line. Easy to run into issues with this on these trucks.
