Ok ..... all you car guys and gals, I just completed building a 1947 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible (coupe). It is a Street Rod but I have not been able to find out how many Zephyr Convertibles were built in 1947. Can any one out there help me find my answer. I really would appreciate it. I have asked the LZOC and the LCOC folks and have had different opinions which are in the low 300 range with very few remaining. So ..... any one have any clues??

    Thanks ..... Jalopyguy:confused:

  2. OK---The book I have says there was a total of 19,891 units made for 47.....but no break-down for the different models---not counting the countinentals.....stan

Did the LZOC guys jump on this or what? Zephyrs were made from 37 to 41 then "zephyr" was dropped as a name. I think 300 is about right on your continental But I think alot more survived than prewar models as they were not crushed for the war effort as the all the prewar cars were. Just my 2cents LTR Dave

??? For 1947, Total "continental" production was 1,569..

Total V12 production, which I would assume is less continental production, is listed as 19,891.

Not sure how anybody equates any numbers at 300???
I have noticed that there was apparently zephyrs in 1942? so the Official 'zephyr' name may have been dropped after 1942???

But I am no expert and have no clue as to actual converts or Lincolns, wiether continental or zephyr or 1947 or Abrahams???

I would just like to see some pics of your beautiful 47...

You can contact the Henry Ford Museum and if the records still exist (most were lost in a fire in the Rotunda in 1956) they can give you information based on your car VIN #. I got a copy of the original build sheet for our '39 Zephyr Convertible Coupe, 638 were built. I now need to track down the info on our '49 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Convertible.
